Frequently Asked Questions
How does the cost compare wltb Stone Granite or Marble?
It is very difficult to compare prices until we have seen a plan and design, but many considerations are required before comparisons between Granite, Marble or solid timber are possible. For instance; .. Can they be made in any shape or design, without seams, in hundreds of colours, non porous and include seamless moulded sinks as part of the actual top? We would say however that despite all the advantages of our solid surface materials over Granite or wood, that our tops work out to be similar in price and in some cases, slightly cheaper.
What are the differences between Granite Or Marble and our Solid Surfaces and why should I choose Solid Surfaces instead of Granite Or Marble?
First of all, our solid surface material is non porous and totally uneffected by moisture or normal domestic spillages. Unlike Granite or Marble, our joins can look completely seamless, only detectable if we tell you where they are (not invisible, but classed as inconspicuous).
We offer a fantastic range of contemporary and tradional colours to blend in with all your colour schemes and designs ideas.
We offer a top that is kept beautiful with the minimum of care and can be restored at any time to it's original condition, in situ and with the minimum of effort.
Unlike our real stone competitors, we can make any size, any thickness and any design - even rounded and thermoformed shapes. We can incorporate coved upstands, integrated sinks and water drainage grooves.

Are Solid Surface tops affected by heat and staining?
Like any Resin based material, you would not place very hot items on the surface. It would burn if a pan was placed on top after removing it from direct heat. Some protection would be required and should be treated as you would a table or peice of furniture. Pan protectors can be built into our tops next to hobs and ovens if required that would allow red hot items to be placed on the surface.
Solid surface tops are extremely stain resistant and not effeoted by most household spillages. Propriotary cleaners are used to clean the surface and should tops become stained or scratched over a period of time, then we can easily restore them to look as new with very little effort or mess. Even if your top becomes badly damaged, we can repair it, almost invisibly, to it's original condition.
How long does it take from order to installation?
We normally work on a 4 - 5 week lead time from order to completion depending on clrcumstances and site access. We would take templates after about 2 weeks and look to fit around 2 weeks after this. Fitting for an average kitchen would take about 1 full day.
